OnRe: Bridging Reinsurance and DeFi on Solana

Challenge

Tokenizing Real-World Reinsurance at Scale

OnRe needed to move a complex reinsurance tokenization platform from Ethereum to Solana, and keep it fit for a regulated market (~$750B addressable).

Phase one was the migration: reinsurance mechanics, OnYC token design, Token 2022 / USDG support, multisig governance, rewards tracking, and a security model that could pass institutional review (QuantStamp, Squads).

Phase two was DeFi. Once OnYC was on Solana, it could integrate with Solana-native protocols. Kamino, Exponent, and LoopScale came after the migration, not in parallel with it. Those integrations only exist because the token was already live and composable on Solana.

Our Solution

EVM-to-Solana Platform Migration

Moved the reinsurance tokenization stack from Ethereum to Solana, including OnYC mechanics and real-world asset backing. This was the prerequisite for everything that followed.

Composable OnYC Token Architecture

Designed OnYC so other protocols could integrate it after it was live on Solana. Later adopted by Kamino, Exponent, and LoopScale.

Token 2022 Standard Implementation

Expanded the program architecture for SPL and Token 2022 (USDG). Required as part of the Solana build, not a later bolt-on.

QuantStamp Audited Security Framework

Security architecture audited by QuantStamp. Multisig governance through Squads. Admin controls for regulated operations.

Building Institutional-Grade DeFi Infrastructure

Migrating Reinsurance Mechanics to Solana

The first job was translating reinsurance mechanics from EVM to Solana: OnYC, Token 2022 / USDG, yield and risk math for institutional capital, Squads multisig, QuantStamp audit. That stack had to stand on its own before any DeFi listing.

Building Institutional-Grade DeFi Infrastructure

Security that still composes in DeFi

The security implementation required developing institutional-grade infrastructure meeting regulatory standards while enabling DeFi composability. The QuantStamp audited framework includes multisig governance through Squads, comprehensive admin controls, and sophisticated rewards tracking ensuring transparency and compliance for traditional financial institutions entering DeFi.

What shipped

OnYC runs on Solana now

Reinsurance tokenization migrated from Ethereum to Solana. Token 2022 support, QuantStamp audit, Squads multisig. Adopted by Kamino, Exponent and LoopScale.

What's true now

$288M under management, 11.54% base APY, and Kamino, Exponent and LoopScale have integrated OnYC for lending and collateral.

What came first

A live Ethereum platform. Migration before any integration. Token 2022 came with it, because USDG needed it.

What was hard

Regulated on one side, composable on the other. Audit, multisig governance, admin controls, and a program expanded for Token 2022.

Why they chose us

Live product, regulated capital, chain migration, external audit. One team for all of it. Their CTO went on record after.
They responded promptly to all of our needs during the entire process."
